"Mad Hax"

Films: Damnation Alley (1977)

Alias: Giant scorpions, meat-eating cockroaches

Type: Mutant

Location: Desert/Civilized area

Height/Weight: That of large dogs (scorpions), that of regular cockroaches (roaches).

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: There's not a whole lot to cover here, really. But we would kind of like to see some more apocalypse films where the most persistent species on Earth made it to the end and evolved for it.

History: In the not so distant future, two years have passed since WWIII left the Earth a nuclear-scorched wasteland. Now, the few creatures that continue to thrive include humans, large scorpions, and hissing cockroaches that have developed a taste for fresh meat. The only escort to a better life is a couple "landmasters" that must trek through the safest path, "Damnation Alley".

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The scorpions are left with a fake corpse to munch on, and the cockroaches encountered are blown up. As for the cast, these creatures are mostly distractions, and they find the land they're looking for. Good for them.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-The scorpions are horribly implemented into the film, mostly minding their own business as one speeds past them. The cockroaches are a bit better, swarming others and looking very much real. But they're killed easily, and a lot of fakes can easily be spotted.

Trivia: -Scorpions and cockroaches are indeed masterful survivors of change. They and their kind have been around, almost completely unaltered, since the Carboniferous period (the scorpions were larger before then, but that's beside the point).

-The scorpions were going to be represented by actual props, but said props turned out to be too unwieldly, and the footage too embarrassing to show to the public.

Enough grandstanding. Explain why your movie went under.
Even in chaos, the Earth just springs to life.
Well, at least they don't start fires.
